The Dovecote - Heritage Stonework & Conversion
As the name suggests, this building was originally a dovecote.
The clients obtained planning permission to convert it into a dwelling and asked us to carry out the stonework, brickwork, and associated structural work needed to bring the project together in a heritage style.
Our work on the project included:
Creating new top and bottom openings on the side elevations to match the existing features.
Carrying out full repointing to unify the stonework and enhance the overall look.
Installing structural steels to support the new layout.
First-fix carpentry throughout.
Fitting new windows in keeping with the character of the building.
Installing a new porch and balcony to complete the overall design.
The clients were extremely happy with the finished result - and I think it looks great too. This project was a pleasure to work on, breathing new life into a historic structure while keeping its heritage character intact.
